What does Reiki mean?

The word Reiki was formed from the Japanese words REI “soul, spirit” and KI “energy”. Reiki, pronounced “Reeki”, is also called “Universal Life Energy”. Mikao Usui called his treatment method “Shin Shin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryoho”, “The Usui treatment method for the improvement of body and mind”.

What is Reiki?

Reiki treatment is an alternative, natural and holistic treatment method for the improvement of body and mind. Reiki is very powerful and effective. It penetrates to the source of an illness and supports the healing process until recovery in a natural all-encompassing and sustainable way.

What is Jikiden Reiki?

The term “Jikiden” 直傳 is often used in traditional Japanese arts. It means “passed on directly” or “direct teaching”. The term Jikiden Reiki® 直傳靈氣 is not a new form of Reiki; on the contrary, it is the original, unchanged Japanese Reiki. Jikiden Reiki is a registered trademark of the Yamaguchi family. Jikiden Reiki was not mixed with other Reiki techniques or treatment methods and has thus retained its original and clear focus and power. In 1999, Chiyoko Yamaguchi and her son Tadao Yamaguchi founded the Institute “Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai” to pass on this valuable original Reiki knowledge in an unmodified form. You can learn Jikiden Reiki, I offer Jikiden Reiki Shoden and Okuden courses in Zurich.

What is the difference between Jikiden Reiki and Western Reiki?

Both have their roots in Mikao Usui Sensei’s Reiki. Nevertheless, they cannot be compared, as Western Reiki (Takata lineage) has left some elements behind and added some new ideas and concepts of other treatment methods such as the Indian chakra system. Jikiden Reiki (Yamaguchi lineage) is the unchanged original Reiki form Japan. The Jikiden Reiki training teaches the Byosen concept as well as the original Shirushi (symbols). Only someone who has the necessary practice hours and experiences with clients can become an autorised Shihan Kaku (assistant teacher) or a Shihan (teacher).

What is Byosen?

Byosen is a Japanese term and describes the radiation that emanates from areas of the body where there are blockages and tensions of tissue fibres. Through a unique five-stage perception system, the Jikiden Reiki therapist’s hands are guided to the body parts, and through the targeted treatment, the congestion subsides and dissolves. As a result, recovery can occur.

What is an alternative treatment method?

An alternative treatment method is a natural way of healing. Energy flows like “rivers” through our bodies. Our growth and healing processes are not possible without this energy. When the flow is dammed, there is too much water in one place and too little in another. This creates an energetic imbalance in the supply of cells and organs, which can lead to discomfort or even illness. With targeted Reiki treatments, these blockages can be dissolved and the energy can flow freely and unhindered. It is a subtle process of holistic health maintenance. Body and mind come back into balance. The healing process takes place without medication that causes negative side effects and puts additional strain on the body.

Who comes for Reiki treatment and who is it good for?

Jikiden Reiki is suitable for everyone. Children, teenagers and adults up to senior age, regardless of cultural background or health condition. Everyone is welcome.
